The Game Was Never Just a Game.
For generations, Black families passed down their most important lessons not in classrooms — but around card tables. Spades, Bid Whist, Tunk, and Dominoes carried strategy, trust, communication, and joy across decades. They were never just games. They were heirlooms.
Love, Peace & Games: Play It Forward exists to make sure that inheritance doesn't disappear. Through play, education, and community programming, we preserve what Black families have always known — that the table is sacred, and everyone deserves a seat at it.
What
We’ve Built.
Since 2022, Love, Peace & Spades™ has grown into one of Los Angeles' most consistent and community-driven institutions—with 12,000+ attendees across our events and activations, 75+ events produced across South Los Angeles and beyond, and active outreach to schools, senior care facilities, and youth organizations across Los Angeles.

We have been covered by The Los Angeles Times, Fox 11, ABC7, KCAL News, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, and Travel Weekly. Our past partnerships have included Rogers & Cowan PMK, Amazon Music, U.S. Playing Card Company (Bicycle Cards), and Lululemon.
And we have done almost all of it without a sustained funding base.
