Black College Game Night returns October 9th at The Nursery Garden (3401 W 63rd Street).

HBCU or PWI, this one’s for every student, grad, alumni, frat, sorority, and band member who chased excellence in higher ed.

Rep your colors, bring your crew. However you show up, show up!

We’ll have a Spades tournament, Open Play featuring all your favorite games, plus food and drinks provided by On Point + South LA Wine Club, respectively.

Early bird tickets ($10) are live now through Sept. 23. Tournament tickets (capped at 16 teams) drop Sept. 30th.

On Oct. 21st, Spades Academy by Love, Peace & Spades at Our House brings together seasoned experts and coaches, curious first-timers, and players looking to rebuild their skills for our once-a-month gatherings filled with strategy, laughter, and connection. 

From Bid Whist to Tunk/Tonk to Dominoes to Spades, these games have deep roots in our culture and have long been a key ingredient for fellowship and generational exchange. 

What to expect when you attend: Play & Learn: Tables for both experienced card game players and those eager to learn the ropes. Culture & Community: A warm, inclusive “hush harbor that celebrates the heritage of our play traditions.

Wine & Food Vibes: South LA Wine Club’s curated wines will be available for pour, while Chef Binta’s WithBEE, Afro-Caribbean cuisine, will serve lite bites throughout the night.
